What changed in 2026

Why the table looks like this

Amazon has cut commissions twice in the last six years: first in 2020 (furniture 8%→3%, grocery 5%→1%, and more), then again in 2026 with cuts reported up to 50% in some categories and the removal of milestone bonuses. The "pre-cut rate" column shows where each category used to sit. To see the dollar impact on your own account, run the full earnings audit.

How to read it

Understanding each column

Current rate

What Amazon pays on orders settled today for this category. "CUT" means the rate is more than 2 percentage points below the pre-cut rate; "steady" means it's effectively unchanged.

Pre-cut rate

The representative rate before the commission cuts (the 2020-era schedule). Comparing the two shows exactly which categories lost the most.

⚠️These are advisory rates. Amazon can change the schedule at any time and the rate on an order is the one that applied on the order date. For your exact numbers, audit your actual Product Earnings Report.
Worked example

What a 3% rate actually means

Take Pet Products, now at 3% after being 8%. If your pet store does 300 sales a month at an average $45 order, that's $13,500 of monthly revenue. At 8% you'd earn $1,080/month; at 3% you earn $405/month — a $675 monthly gap, or $8,100 a year.

Multiply that across every category you sell in and the rate cuts are real money. Use the commission calculator for your own category, price and volume, then run the audit on your actual report.

FAQ

Commission rate questions

What is the highest Amazon Associates commission rate?

In the current schedule, Amazon Haul at 25% and Amazon Games at 20% lead the table. Most physical categories sit between 1% and 4.5%.

What is the lowest Amazon Associates commission rate?

Several categories pay 1%: Electronics, Amazon Fresh & Grocery, Health & Personal Care, and Video Game Consoles. These were all cut from higher pre-cut levels.

When did Amazon last cut commission rates?

Reported cuts in 2026 reduced many rates by up to 50% and removed milestone bonuses, on top of the earlier 2020 cuts. Our guide to the 2026 changes covers what we know.

Do UK and Canada have different rates?

Yes. Each marketplace publishes its own schedule. This page shows the US table; the calculator includes US, UK and Canada markets, and the audit works with reports from any of them.

Why don't my actual earnings match the published rate?

The published rate is the starting point, but settlement depends on order-date rates, order volume tiers, returns, and shipping-only items. If your report seems off, run the earnings audit to find possible underpayments line by line.
